On December 15, 2025, the campus of Women’s Christian College in Kolkata buzzed with festive joy as the Eco Club, Sucharu – Incubation Centre, Sumeli Folk Studies Archive, and Unmesh Entrepreneurship Cell came together for a Christmas Carnival and program. This successful initiative, now in its fourth year, aims to support and nurture student entrepreneurs while fostering a sense of community.

The event was inaugurated by Rev. Sunil Michael Caleb, Principal of Bishop’s College and a respected figure in the fields of theology and Christian ethics. His presence as Chief Guest set a reflective tone, emphasizing the importance of ethics in both personal and professional pursuits. Alongside him was Sri Kushal Biswas, Teacher-in-Charge of Women’s Christian College, who welcomed attendees including Governing Body members, former faculty, alumnae, and students.

The carnival featured an array of stalls set up by current and former students, showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Attendees enjoyed a diverse selection of handmade jewellery, unique home decor items, and an assortment of delicious food offerings, including baked goods and festive desserts. This year’s event not only provided a vibrant marketplace but also served as a valuable networking opportunity for student entrepreneurs keen on developing their business skills.

As the carnival proceeded under a canopy of holiday cheer, it became evident that this innovative initiative is more than just a festive celebration; it is a vital part of Women’s Christian College’s ongoing commitment to empower its students.
