Major Drug Bust in Murshidabad: Police Seize 138 Bottles of Phensedyl

In a significant operation, the Raninagar Police Department conducted a successful raid on April 24, 2025, following secret intelligence reports. At approximately 15:25 hrs, SI Tanmoy Guita and his team descended upon a banana garden located in Katlamari Palpara under Raninagar police jurisdiction. The operation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Abdul Sajib Mondal, son of Robiul Islam Mondal, a resident of village Katlamari Ramnagar Para.Authorities recovered a staggering 138 bottles of phensedyl, a substance commonly abused as a narcotic, from Mondal’s possession. The raid was supervised by CI Domkal, ensuring all legal formalities were observed during the apprehension. Following the incident, Police Case No-243/2025 was registered under sections 21(C) and 29 of the NDPS Act of 1985. The arrested individual is scheduled to be presented before the Learned Court today, along with a request for a seven-day police remand to facilitate further investigation. This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to tackle drug-related issues within the community, reflecting a broader initiative to safeguard public health and safety against the rising tide of substance abuse. Community members are urged to remain vigilant and assist in reporting suspicious activities that may pertain to drug trafficking.
